Curriculum Support
The English language curriculum can incorporate the language topics students will need in order to research, and to report their findings. These topics are:
-
Vocabulary Building - Students will need to learn the words associated with community groups and their services.
- Semantic maps
- Vocabulary squares
- Knowledge grids
- Morphemic analysis
- Asking Questions - It is important that students learn question syntax, and then focus on asking the right questions.
- Content questions
- Yes/No questions
- Be questions; two-verb questions; modal verb questions
- Setting a questionnaire
- Genre Writing - Finally, students will need to write a report with references, and therefore will need practice in including the content and style characteristics befitting a report.
